Jakarta, June 2, 2026 — The repatriation of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims from Saudi Arabia has officially begun. The first group of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims has returned to Indonesia after completing the entire Hajj pilgrimage in the Holy Land.
The Minister of Hajj and Umrah of the Republic of Indonesia, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, personally saw off the first group of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims at King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah. The send-off was held for pilgrims in group SUB-01, the first group to return to Indonesia during this year’s Hajj season.
The return of this first group marks the beginning of the repatriation process for thousands of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims who have completed their religious rituals in Mecca and Medina. The government ensures that all stages of the repatriation are carried out in a planned and coordinated manner to guarantee the security, comfort, and safety of the pilgrims during their journey.
Through relevant ministries and agencies, the government continues to coordinate closely with Saudi Arabian authorities and airline operators to ensure that the entire process proceeds according to the established schedule. Various aspects of service—ranging from transportation and healthcare to assistance for elderly pilgrims—are a top priority during the repatriation phase.
In addition, Indonesian Hajj officials remain on standby to provide assistance and support to pilgrims who require special services. This measure reflects the government’s commitment to providing the best possible service to all Indonesian Hajj pilgrims.
The government hopes that all pilgrims will return to their respective regions safe and sound. The success of this year’s Hajj is expected to serve as a catalyst for continuing to improve the quality of Indonesia’s Hajj services in the years to come.
With the start of the first group’s return, the government invites the entire public to join in praying that all Indonesian pilgrims may have a mabrur Hajj and be reunited with their families in joy.
